Hike and a Bite is a personal travel blog. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (through the MonsterInsights plugin) to see which pages people read, roughly where visitors come from, and what device they use. Google sets cookies to do this. We don’t use it to identify you personally.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
- Server logs. Our host, Bluehost, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t run advertising on this site.
Links to other sites
Posts link to other websites, such as restaurants, tour operators and trail apps. Those sites have their own privacy policies. In future some links may be affiliate links, and we will say so on any post that uses them.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
- If you’re in the EU or UK you can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it.
